About Finca Antigua

Finca Antigua was “Love at First Sight” for Familia Martínez Bujanda. With the decision to diversify the original Rioja winery business, they combed the country of Spain in search of singular vineyards with personality. Until they reached an extreme site for vine growing that, far from the traditional and uniform extensions of La Mancha, this estate offered extraordinary possibilities to innovate in the elaboration of wine.

About Spain

Known for bold reds, crisp whites, easy-drinking rosés, distinctive sparkling, and fortified wines, Spain has embraced international varieties and wine styles while continuing to place primary emphasis on its own native grapes. Though the country’s climate is diverse, it is generally hot and dry. In the centre of the country lies a vast, arid plateau known as the Meseta Central, characterised by extremely hot summers and frequent drought.

About Viura

The leading white grape of Rioja, Viura is common as a single varietal white or blended with Malavasia and Grenache Blanc. It also thrives in the lower elevations of the Penedes, where it is called Macabeo and adds aromatic and fruity notes to the traditional Cava blend with Parellada and Xarel-lo.

Called Macabeu in France, this versatile grape is prevalent in Roussillon where it makes still, sparkling, dry and sweet wines.
