ABOUT THIS GIN
Plymouth Gin is based on a recipe that goes all the way back to 1793. The recipe specifies a unique blend of seven ingredients, distilled in combination with pure grain alcohol and soft Dartmoor water.

Juniper is the main botanical ingredient in all gins, although in Plymouth the juniper is less dominant than in other gins. The berries are selected from Italy and the former Yugoslavia. The blend of berries and the distillation process gives Plymouth its uniquely smooth taste.

About Plymouth Gin

Plymouth Gin is a style and brand of gin that has been distilled on the same premises on the Barbican in Plymouth, Devon, since 1793. The site of production, the Plymouth Gin Distillery, was built in 1431 and is reputed to have once been a monastery of the Dominican Order.

About Gin

Enjoying an enthusiastic resurgence in modern cocktail culture, Gin, a.k.a. ‘Dutch Courage,’ was originally touted as a 16th century cure for cowardice and stomach ailments. Arguably the broadest and most dynamic category of spirits in terms of flavor profiles and production styles, Gin is a distilled grain spirit that derives its primary flavor from juniper berries and secondary flavors from a dazzling array of spices, herbs, fruits and botanicals. It is both produced and enjoyed all around the world and is most commonly mixed into cocktails such as the Martini or simply added to tonic water.
