About this Product

Fruit was taken from numerous vineyards with vine age ranging from 25 yrs – 70+ years. Sub Regions include Ebenezer, Kalimna, Eden Valley, Stonewall, Vine Vale and Lights Pass. All individual parcels of fruit were open fermented very traditionally, with plunging and pumping over twice daily, prior to basket pressing. The wine was matured in a combination of some newer and more older French and American oak hogsheads and puncheons. The oak regime is designed to respect the fruit but to add layers of subtle background oak. Cellaring potential-up to 10 years.

About Soul Growers

5-star rating, James Halliday Wine Companion

Soul Growers stands for everything that is great about the Barossa: shared wisdom, new ideas, mateship and a passion for making and enjoying great wine. It was born out of a friendship of three dedicated souls who saw the opportunity to join forces and chase their dream of creating wines and a brand that reflected their view of the Barossa.

Soul Growers name comes from the soul of the Barossa Valley – the history of the vineyards, family growers, the handing down of knowledge from the generations and establishing a winemaking style for generations to come.

About Australia

A large, climatically diverse country with incredibly diverse terrain, producing just about every wine style imaginable, Australia has a grand winemaking history and some of the oldest vines on the planet. Both red wine and white wine from Australian are wildly popular and beloved.

Shiraz is indeed Australia’s most celebrated and widely planted variety; Barossa Valley leads the way, producing exceptionally bold and supple versions. Cabernet Sauvignon, Australia's second most planted variety, can be blended with Shiraz but also shines on its own particularly in Coonawarra and Margaret River. Grenache and Mourvèdre are also popular, both on their own and alongside Shiraz in Rhône Blends. Chardonnay is common throughout the country and made in a wide range of styles. Sauvignon Blanc has recently surged in popularity to compete with New Zealand’s distinctive version and Semillon is often blended in Margaret River or shines on its own in the Hunter Valley. Riesling thrives in the cool-climate Clare and Eden Valleys. Sticky-sweet fortified wine Rutherglen is a beloved regional specialty of Victoria.

About Shiraz

Marked by an unmistakable deep purple hue and savory aromatics, Syrah, also known as Shiraz, accounts for a good deal of some of the most intense, powerful and age-worthy reds in the world.

Syrah once played a role as a blending partner to the austere Cabernet in Bordeaux as it added some body and texture. Now, Australians are fond of tempering their fruit-forward Shiraz by blending with Cabernet Sauvignon, which adds depth and structure.
